If you love art, then you have come to the right place with a visit to the Huntsville Museum of Art, with its permanent collection alone featuring over 3,200 objects! It's an art-tastic day out for the kids in Alabama!
The permanent collection within the museum focuses primarily on 19th and 20th century American art, with am emphasis on art from the Southeast. It's a wonderful experience that allows kids (whether they study art or not), to be introduced to art of the nation, but also history too!
This historic and cultural experience is expanded with the African, Asian and European art that is the collection's secondary focus.
It's not just paintings that are found in an art museum - there are so many ways that art can be created, and an artist can express themselves.
There are some 400 works on paper within the permanent collection, by some pretty iconic names that you just might know - have you ever heard of Whistler, or Andy Warhol? We thought so!
You can also see jewelry, glass work, sculptures, clay work and even metal work - and some of the creations just might surprise and inspire!
The Huntsville Museum of Art features fourteen galleries, and within these typically three to four traveling exhibits are displayed across the year, so you can plan your next visit around something new!

Pane e Vino is a casual, family-friendly pizzeria located downstairs in the Museum - so get stuck in after your visit to the museum!
If you visit after 5pm on Thursdays admission is only $5 for everyone!
The Museum Store carries locally crafted products, educational games, sweet treats and plenty of items for the children!
There are so many ways for kids to learn! There are Drop In Saturdays, K-8 camps and classes, After School activities for kids to teens, home-school experiences, workshops and more!
The museum welcomes everyone, and is accessible to all, and additionally, they offer an Accessible Art Workshop program
The Museum has an adjacent parking lot. Additional metered parking can be found on Church Street, Williams Street and Fountain Row.
