About this activity

Are you excited to explore the WILDEST place in Waikiki! It must be Honolulu Zoo, of course!

Here, the whole family can explore the 42 acres that are home to 905 different animals from the tropics. It's certainly an adventure!

A day at Honolulu Zoo is never dull. There are so many amazing creatures you can come face to face with, study, learn about, watch, be entertained by, and perhaps make friends with!

Kids can meet their favorite animals, and perhaps learn about some they have never heard of before! You can even imagine you are on safari on the plains of Africa, watching those incredible animals move in herds.

Have you ever seen a zebra or an elephant up close? Have you ever just watched an African Wild Dog, or seen how impressive the African Lion really is?

Maybe you want to spend the afternoon with the Malayan Sun Bear, or learning what a Domestic Zebu is!

From Aardvarks, to llamas, to Dik Diks, to lemurs....Honolulu Zoo really is a great place to learn all about the amazing animals of the world - without leaving the island!

Let's not forget about those reptiles and birds too. The zoo is packed with frogs, swans, tortoise, kookaburras, geckos, ostrich, lizards, and even alligators!

For a bit of a change, why not explore those wonderful plants in the Zoo's botanical garden? Kids can learn what plants are not only native to hawaii, but also have a strong importance to the Polynesian culture.

With a playground for those active kids too, it's certainly a WILD day out in Hawaii! ROAR!
