Such a treat! We went 2 years ago for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The natural garden was heavy with vines and allowed to grow freely, and the kept gardens were manicured and full of blooming flowers and little rabbits. My favorite was the bog garden, where irises and tulips grew up out of swampy marsh and little ducks waded in the ponds. Lots of different geocaches here and plenty of walking trails. Not sure how it is now, but I’m holding out that things are still beautiful.

I would have thought that the state would have done more to fix the place up.There was not as many flowers as I remembered and Flag Island was completely closed. Also the geyser in the middle of the lake wasn’t working anymore. Its still very scenic, but the overall condition has been better. The entrance road is weathered and bumpy. My first trip here was 1966 and I’ve been back many times.Sadly, I won’t be back.

Not Nothing like it use to be… Since state took over it looks like minimum was done to keep it up and open.
