Where are we going today?

Historic Cold Spring Village is a living history museum set in what is known as the 'age of homespun' circa 1780 to 1840. There are 26 restored buildings set about the 30 acres, each containing costumed characters who will chat to the kids about their daily life and craft including backet weaving, woodwork and blacksmithing.

There are some opportunities for interactivity during the week and at weekends proper hands on activities are provided, as well as free horse and wagon rides.

Look out for the Cape May Point Jail, which is now the base for the family activities and also houses the dress up room!

A quaint little village that shows what life was like 100+ years ago. I'm not sure it was the cost of admission but I did enjoy seeing the farm animals and going for a horse drawn carriage ride.
I do not recommend the restaurant. It has a very limited menu and we waited over 30 minutes for a cheese plate and two salads at 2:00 on a weekday.
I do recommend buying the combo ticket that gets you into Cape May Lighthouse a few minutes down the road.

This place is HUGE! I thought it was a railroad museum when we turned off of the highway. It's a whole village. It was a peaceful way to start our trip. We strolled around and enjoyed every bit. Check their calendar if you are planning a trip. They have frequent functions. There was a knitting group and "High Tea Party" the same day we were there. Alas, we missed both.
