Where are we going today?

History comes alive at the Hesston Steam Museum as real steam locomotives take you on a spectacular two and a half mile journey through deep woods, past lakes and farm fields. Ride our 1/4 scale and 1/8 scale steam railroads. Both meander over bridges and through an enchanting wooded landscape. The Hesston Steam Museum is filled with other steam powered machinery including a steam-powered saw mill, a railroad steam crane, steam powered electric power plant, steam traction engines and more.

We arrived after closing yesterday after a day of blueberry picking nearby.... the staff still had time to discuss 'trains' with my son and encouraged us to return for the big Labor Day weekend Steam engine Event.... we will definitely return!!

One of the best family destinations in the region. Well worth a 2+ hour drive to go ride the trains, explore the machinery and talk to a bunch of interesting volunteers. The little trains are the most fun to ride imo but you can't deny the magnitude or engineering of the Shay Locomotive.

Took my two 4 year old boys and 9 year old daughter and had a blast. Thank you to all the volunteers.
