The Hjemkomst ship itself is the prize of the center and quite good to look at and study. The facility has a theater to show the voyage of the ship and they have all sorts of historical displays of the journey like the tools, Captain's log, etc. Also, the site has the Hopperstad Stave Church replica. Very beautiful to look at and visiting comes with the initial price of admission. You need to have an employee of the center open the doors of the church for you if you want to look inside it. The museum is small and a little boring but the Viking ship and replica church are worth the visit!

We had our wedding ceremony at the Stave Church and the reception inside the center. It was a good expierence and I loved our choice to say our vows there and then celebrate with friends and family. Two reasons to proceed with caution before signing up for it. Number 1: the Stave church holds only 50 sitting and 65 standing - which may cause you some grief from certain people such as co-workers or distant relatives. Number 2: there are many rules and regulations to rent the facility. Make sure you read carefully before agreeing.

The staff was only a few people but they were great people and very knowledgeable of the ship and the church. Not much for children to experience but still seeing the ship and church is enough for all kinds.
