Where are we going today?

Henry Vilas Zoo is around 30 acres of family fun with a wide range of animals, rides, activities and recreation for all ages and abilities, it is also free to enter.

The Tree House and Adventure Play Area boast extensive adventure playgrounds, plus the Discovery Center and Herpetarium offer some intriguing examples, and there are also a train and carousel ride.

The Children's Zoo Barn is a 3,500 square foot ecological wonder, well worth getting the kids to stop and appreciate the solar panels, geothermal technology and rain collection system involved, before you enjoy the farm animals and feed the goats.

I've been here many times over the years and have to say every time was fun. They have plenty of animals to see and it's free. We had to find parking which was nearly impossible but it was worth it. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. I can't say much about the food, as we either ate before or brought food with us. We have been here a couple of times in the winter, of course not as many of the animals were available to see but it was still a nice day. Each time we have made sure to donate, I really hope they can keep this zoo open...Read More

The google review by poster Mateo Osorio is offensive. I think it should be removed.

For being free, this zoo is awesome. And they are putting on a big addition here soon. If you are in the area and need something to entertain kids for 3 hours, it's awesome.

Missing main animals. The bathrooms are just gross and filthy. I do not think they clean them on a regular basis.

Very nice small zoo with a very nice children's area and they've been working on updating their habitats which is also made a big difference

Each time we have made sure to donate, I really hope they can keep this zoo open and the animals healthy, it's a great place for Madison to have. We will be returning any time we are in the Madison area.
