Where are we going today?

Pristine white sugar sand beaches and more than 6,000 feet of natural scenic shoreline border the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Natural features of the park include sand pines, scrub oaks, and dune rosemary. Boardwalks provide access to the beach for swimming, sunbathing, and fishing. Two large pavilions allow for picnicking and grilling. A playground is the first stop on our nature trail and is sure to be a success with the kids. The nature trail provides visitors a rare glimpse of the coastal dune ecosystem and abundant wildlife and is pet friendly. Camping at Henderson Beach State Park provides 60 campsites that are located in our secondary dune system. The sites include water and electric hookups and access to air conditioned and heated bathhouse facilities. A separate beach access boardwalk with outdoor showers and a playground are included in our campground. Henderson Beach is A.D.A accessible and includes beach wheel chair availability. Visitors can enjoy truly breathtaking sunsets while relaxing by the warm crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico.

So glad we found out about this private beach. It wasn't crowded at all. You pay about $6 or so to get in but you have access to the beach all day. You can even leave and come back without having to pay again. The beach traffic is monitored so it never gets crowded. It's worth the money because two blocks over is the public more popular beach in Destin and it was really packed. Barely walking room. I'd recommend paying the few dollars. It's worth the serenity.

This is an amazing state park! Perfect for those wishing to have a relaxing beach experience. It's only a few dollars to get in but you have access to the entire park. There are restrooms available as well as picnic tables and vending machines. Definitely a better choice than the local public beaches. Watch out for jellyfish!

Don't know where to start....loved it. Was there for 3 weeks.

    Bathroom/shower house was spotless!

The RV spots are huge and gravel. You have electric and water at the site only. The spots are so private with the beautiful Florida setting between the sites. The host smooth out the gravel whenever someone leaves and makes sure the spot is perfect for the next person.

They have two washers and dryers that are kept cleaned even though the park doesn't own

Then of course there is the beach which is awesome...

I am a local and this is an AMAZING state park and has great beaches, bathrooms, a playground, trails and camping if you can get it. Ignore all other comments about seaweed or water conditions as those fluctuate constantly and will be the same at any of the other beach accesses. If you want great parking, nice facilities, a very natural setting with no condos and limited crowds, this is the place to go. If you want great parking, nice facilities, a very natural setting with no condos and limited crowds, this is the place to go. If you are on Spring Break and just want to drink this is not the place for you. You will get a ticket if you have alcohol. It is our safe choice for a great day at the beach! (and when we want to avoid masses of tourists)
