Where are we going today?

There is so much to learn about Washington State because of it's rich history, so why not visit a place where you can immerse yourself in it!

The Habor History Museum is 14,500 sq ft of exhibits that showcase the amazing history, people and events that shaped Gig Harbor to what you know it today! Kids will love the hands-on learning, and with traveling exhibits too, there will always be something new to see when you head back!

7,000 sq ft of the Harbor History Museum is permanent exhibits, so you can go back and visit your favorites if you wnat! The rich heritage of the Gig Harbor Peninsula is all displayed through unique artifacts, hands-on exhibits, computer interactives, and even a small theater!

The rotating exhibits cover a range of topics, from artwork from local painters, to photographs and artifacts on the Netsheds in the area. Never heard of a Netshed? Well, these are those over-water houses that were built along the docks for the local fishermen!

Pretty cool!

Don't forget to step outside to check out the Shenandoah in all it's 65ft glory! This fishing vessel is being restored by the museum, and it's a great sight for the kids!

Make sure you check out the family programs that are held across the year, including those that celebrate the diverse cultures that make up Gig Harbor's past and present!

Spend a day enjoying the Harbor History Museum where history comes to life, fun facts are learnt and kids can experience programs and events that they will love!
