For animals AND rides on your family day out, why not head to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo! With it's combination of games and theme park rides, as well as sweet animals to encounter, it's a super fun place for kids!
Happy Hollows has been entertaining kids and their families since the 1960s. Back then it was only a few rides, but now it's grown to give you SO many fun attractions to give you a great time!
Enjoy those classic favorites like the carousel - at Happy Hollows you can ride with King Neptune and his 24 horses and chariots! Perhaps you might want to enjoy a mini putt-putt car ride, or take a spin on the fun merry go round!
Did you know that Happy Hollows has a host of programs and events too that will entertain the whole family - no matter what age!
How about checking out the Puppet Theater Castle? There is always something fun for the kids to learn through the stories and the shows.
Do you have a future zoo keeper in the family? Saturday Zoo Explorer classes give kids aged 5 to 6 years a chance to experience what goes on in the animal world, and Zoo Academy is for those aged 7 to 9 years!
There are family fun classes, and Junior Zoo Keeper programs. There are even family sleep overs on Halloween where you can hear the truth about "scary" animals, and enjoy behind the scenes tours!
Of course, it wouldn't be a zoo experience without the animals themselves! They have creatures from all around the world just waiting to make new friends - so don't be shy, go and say hi!

We called ahead to make sure they would be open due to the rain, as did the company we met there. They assured us everything would be open and operating. We arrived at noon thinking we would have four hours. Instead we were greeted at the ticket counter informing us they would close at 1pm due to low attendance. Several other people in the parking lot also exclaimed they called ahead after we informed them not to pay for parking. I would like to be informed closing, due to low attendance, was a possibility when we called ahead and drove from Santa...Read More

Not sure what a previous person meant by not being allowed to bring your picnic. They don't restrict you from being in your own food. If you want to save on parking you can park on the street by the stadium, or the Walmart parking lot.

I would like to be informed closing, due to low attendance, was a possibility when we called ahead and drove from Santa Cruz. I was very excited to bring our kids there. I'm sure I'll visit on another trip but I'm disappointed in the misinformation provided on the phone.
