Where are we going today?

Who needs adventure ABOVE ground, when there are incredible sights to see BELOW ground!

Grand Caverns are not only stunning, but they are also America's OLDEST show cave. When you visit, you will see why they are so popular!

The Grand Caverns were discovered way back in 1804, when a man named Bernard Weyer was retrieving one of his traps (see kids, you're learning already!) They opened in 1806, which is how they have become the oldest continually operating show cave in the entire country! Imagine how many families have been there to enjoy it.

Now, a National Natural Landmark, the Grand Caverns make a great day out for the entire family!

All of the tours through the caverns are guided, so you know that you will be in good hands. You will also be able to learn all about these amazing marvels of nature! The tours are perfect for the whole family, as there is only 1 mile of walking at a leisurely pace.

Fancy something a bit more challenging? How about the Fountain Cave Adventure Tour? Here you can explore the caverns like true cavers!

This tour takes about 2 hours, and is great for those who love a bit of activity in their day! There are opportunities to go climbing and crawling, but of course those who don't fancy such an adventure can stay on the 1800s path with the guides.

Armed with helmets, knee pads and gloves, you will be in for a treat!

So why not enjoy a day out with a difference at the Grand Caverns! With hiking, biking and mini golf above ground too, there are plenty of activities to fill your day!

This is the perfect gem! It is great for a family trip, a date or just for fun. The beauty is magnificent and the price is right. The events held at this cave through out the year are really something special. The management team are fun too. Please take the time to visit.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our day at Grand Caverns. The formations were pretty impressive as we had a lot of discussions of how they could have formed. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. Including the caverns, they have a playground area for kids and nice places to have a picnic. There's also hiking trails, a quaint little gift shop and gold panning! Hopefully, we'll also be able to attend their Grand Cavern Ball next year!

We toured the cavern today 1/4/14 and found it to be a wonderful experience as far as the formations go. The only thing we found lacking was our young tour guide Travis. He had an attitude and mono tone voice that told you he wanted to be anyplace else but there giving our tour. His lack of enthusiasm was only surpassed by his inattention to his guests and their safety. In several places the ceiling was so low as to be a head injury hazard. We were given no notice and were lucky when no one received a bump on the head as we passed.

Nice place. Really, the cave was amazing. The tour could be a little more informative (the guide spent a lot of time saying, "see, that rock looks like a jelly fish!").

Worth the drive and the money if you're in the area.

I visited the Grand Caverns last October after visiting several others across the USA. I was the only person on the tour (which I quite enjoyed) and had a fantastic time. I highly recommend you visit these caverns without hesitation. I would drive 10 hours to see them again, they are that great. If you have never been in this cavern, you have truly never seen absolute beauty.

All in all the cavern is loaded with many interesting features. The Shield formations are quiet interesting. Been nice to have learned a bit more about them. Hopefully some one at the cavern will read this and make some changes in the attitude of their guides....
