Located one mile from Juneau International Airport, and seven miles from downtown Juneau, they are located at 7600 Glacier Highway. There are buses to the area too.

Where are we going today?

Alaska is an incredibly beautiful state, so why not explore it! Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure lets the family explore the 50 beautiful acres of rainforest garden with the center's very knowledgeable guide.

Set in the very pretty Tongrass National Forest, you can experience a fully guided tour that will teach kids all about the rainforest's amazing ecosystem, as well as it's diverse animal and plant life. It really is the Last Frontier, with it's amazing views!

You tour will begin in the very pretty gardens where you will learn all about the history of the property itself. With bubbling waterfalls, streams and ponds, kids will love exploring! From here, you will jump into your covered vehicle and ride away into the amazing landscapes around Juneau, including the AMAZING Tongrass National Rainforest!

Did you even know Alaska had a rainforest? It will just keep on surprising you!

After you explore the forest you will head up to 580Ft high up on Thunder Mountain. Make sure you have your camera, as there will be some pretty spectacular views for you up there! How far do you think you can see!

It's a pretty amazing day for those families who love getting out into nature and exploring the natural wonders of this amazing state.

If you're lucky you might even spot the bald eagles who built their nest in the property. It means good luck if you see them!

The gardens are great at any time of year, between May and September, so there is not best or worse time to visit. .

The tours make sure they don't damage any of the rainforest. They are very cautious and make sure that they look after this precious environment! .

Need a little extra help?

The gardens are wheelchair accessible with nice, wide paths and accessible restrooms. Wheelchair guests will need upper body strength to transfer from the chair to the tour vehicle. .

Can I get one of those?

Of course the tour ends with a trip to the Garden Gift Shop. Save up those pennies, as there are a range of souviners that you might want to take home with you! .

    The view from the Thunder Mountain Lookout at Glacier Gardens is awesome. If you visit Juneau, AK take a tour to the Glacier Gardens and ride the golf cart to the Thunder Mountain Lookout. It is a sight you will not forget.
