Where are we going today?

If you had to guess where the WORLD's second largest aquarium was, where would you guess? If you said Georgia, you'd be right!

Georgia Aquarium is just HUGE, and you might feel you are actually exploring the entire oceans when you visit! There are ten million gallons of fresh and marine water, which is home to over 100,000 animals, and these represent over 500 species from all over the world!

If you have kids who want to delve into what makes our waters so special, without having to get wet, then Georgia Aquarium is the place to be!

The aquarium is filled with a host of fascinating exhibits, each tell a different story from our oceans, lakes and seas - so let's explore!

Aquanaut Adventure let's kids explore a fun discovery zone, where they can journey through the upper levels as they complete a series of educational challenges. If they complete it, they can become a certified Georgia Aquarium Aquanaut. Pretty cool!

Have you ever seen a whale shark in person? These are the gentle giants of the deep, and are pretty incredible to look at! The Ocean Voyager gallery not only has FOUR of these amazing creatures, but also manta rays, and thousands of other beautiful fish, making it one of the single largest aquatic exhibits in the entire world.

Kids can see those playful sea lions in their elements in the SunTrust Pier 225, where they can watch their behaviors, and learn all about these popular marine animals, and with the River Scout exhibit, kids can learn about the diverse animals found in the rivers of Africa, Asia, South America, and even locally in Georgia.

With gorgous dolphins, stunning coral reefs, behind the scenes tours, sleeping under the sea experiences, and even Toddler Time sessions, these are just some of the other amazing things to experience at Georgia Aquarium.

So kids, what are you waiting for, there is a whole ocean ready to be explored!

Beautiful aquarium, lots to see! Only small dislikes were there are some very small exhibits of things that, when crowded with people, you have to wait in line to view. Also, while entry was easy, you have about three seconds to stand for family picture which makes it awful and I wouldn't purchase. The cafe is outrageously overpriced as I guess can be expected. Dolphin show was packed, too much "show" for me but the dolphins are amazing! 4D movie was below expectations. Overall I go to see the animals and learn, staff is available for questions...Read More

After a disappointing day a Six Flags the Georgia Aquarium was a refreshing getaway! We had so much fun watching and looking at the animals! It was clean and welcoming environment I wish I could work at! Worth every penny! We hope to some day go back and see a little more (shows and coke museum etc.)

Very cool aquarium. Not the cheapest, but the displays are excellent, the flow of the place was very cool with all the different wings and even when it was busy, you still get great views. The Cafe also has a very fresh salad bar and lots of options.

I chose this destination for our first vacation in 15 years of marriage, and I am so glad that I did. I followed the advice of prepaying for everything online which made the visit much more fluent. From the moment we walked in we were amazed. Every exhibit was very nicely done and allowed us to visit these creatures in what seemed like a natural environment for them. The dolphin show was fantastic. Polite staff and other friendly tourists made for a stress free day. We also visited on a Thursday which turned out to be a good decision. One word of...Read More

I went on a Saturday, unfortunately... The Aquarium was totally packed. There was never room to touch some of the ocean life that was on display. Or sanitizer for use after touching them. The displays are nice, and there is certainly is a wide variety of ocean life there. I would recommend never going on a weekend. If there were less people, it would have been wonderful. The crowd just ruined the experience for me. The ticket price is high, and there is a parking fee (which I feel is outrageous). It seems like a great place for kids. The aquarium...Read More

Love the whale shark exhibit, walking under the tank was my favorite, I could watch for hours!!
