Where are we going today?

Walking or hiking the trails of Fontenelle Nature Association is an experience unlike any other within the Omaha metro area. FNA owns and manages 2,000 acres of conservation land and 26 miles of marked trails. These unique areas have been protected since 1913 and are home to many species of plants and animals. Our trails allow you to explore various ecosystems including oak savanna, prairie, and wetlands. Depending on the season, diverse plants and animals can be spotted in each ecosystem.

There is 1 mile of wooden trails that are fantastic. In addition there is close to 20 miles of dirt trails. This place has easy and moderate hikes that can satisfy a variety of individual wants. There is some wildlife in the area and a large portion is well shaded and can be fun even on a hot Omaha summer day.

Just so you know it is not free. They do a nice job of maintaining the area and it is kid friendly. Also, it never hurts to bring some bug spray.

I moved here from Oregon and was so excited to find a nice wooded hike!
