About this activity

Since 1963, this small unique California zoo has been providing sanctuary to some very special animals, and now YOU get to meet them!  Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary offers a home to wild animals that are non-releasable back into the wild. Many were raised, and rejected, as wild pets. Others were injured or orphaned in the wild. Most are native to North America, and all have names and personalities. A visit to Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary allows kids to not only meet these amazing animals and learn all about them, but they can also hear about their individual stories at the exhibits.

It's an invaluable lesson for kids all about conservation and looking after our animals! Not only that, at the exhibits kids can read factual, up-to-date information about the species too.

The zoo teaches about common and uncommon animals, both wild and domestic, and includes those in between, like feral pigs and wolf-dog hybrids.  Kids can meet beautiful black bears, and come face to face with some pretty special felines including tigers, cougars and the cheeky bobcats.

Even insects such as the honey bees and hissing cockroaches have found a home in this charming zoo!

Throughout the year the zoo hosts events across the year including Wild Nights, and you can even celebrate your birthday at the zoo too! Why not spend that special day with your school friends AND new animal friends!

A very special family day out surrounded by some very special animals, with your admission going directly towards their care!
