Where are we going today?

It's always great to find a fascinating community museum where you can learn all about the events and history of the region, and the Farmington Museum is just that!

It's here that you can explore a wide variety of exhibits that can teach you all about the diverse history of the area, as well as it's culture. These are done through a number of artistic mediums, to give kids a true exploration of learning.

Year round, the Farmington Museum offer lectures (ideal for those over 12s), as well as performances, workshops, and special demonstrations that can give you that little extra depth in what oyu are learning about.

Keep an eye on additional activities that the museum put on, because you might not want to miss them! These include walking tours, as well as Tiny Tots parents / toddler classes, and even Family Star Walk Nights where you can appreciate that HUGE universe about you!

Seasonally, the museum also host a Growers Market in the parking lot, which is a great way to pick up some great local produce!

A fun way to spend the day out in Farmington, where the kids can realize they don't have to look further than right under their feet to learn some fascinating history!

We couldn't have been happier with our trip down the Lower Animas :) We wanted a rafting experience that would introduce our three children (ages 8, 6, and 4) to rafting in a safe yet exciting way. We looked into all the rafting options in town, and Mountain Waters seemed the most-family friendly and could even accommodate our youngest child. Our guide (and co-owner) James did a great job involving the kids and entertaining the adults with his in-depth knowledge of the river, its history, and its wildlife. The River itself was a great mix of excitement...Read More

I had the time of my life! The instructors are very professional. If u are to get paired with anyone, try to to get Bama as your guide. He is super legit. I went when the water level was 5000 CFS, so the "class two" Animas River was more like a class four. Shit was intense!!! As long as you paddle when he gives the command, he will take you through the gnarly rapids (if you're into that kinda thing), or he can always take it easy and avoid the intense white water. Just let your guide know what your trying to do. I will definitely be returning to...Read More

We had a beautiful time! The Rockwood Gorge is spectacular! Our guides were super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, grateful, informative and to say the least, hard workers. Due to the guides expertise, command and knowledge of the river, our trip was thrilling yet well navigated. I felt safe the whole way through. Lunch was a nice spread with plenty of options. The hike out is a wonderful way to pay homage to what was just experienced. Thanks Andy, Doug, Edith, Drew and the many others for the memorable experience. When in doubt......Read More

Mountain Waters is a great outfitting company. We try to hit the Upper Animas every year and Mountain Waters has been great to work with. There is not a prettier place in Colorado and Mountain Waters will help you get the most out of your trip. Their guides are awesome and the staff very friendly. This is a "do not miss" experience!

The River itself was a great mix of excitement and safety for all of us, and the bathroom / snack break half way through the trip was much appreciated. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to whitewater rafting!
