For those curious, innovative and creative older kids, the Innovation Lab gives them a place where they can try out those advanced tools such as 3D printers, laser engravers as well as electronic invention kids. Perfect for those over 10 years to create their own projects.
And if that wasn't enough, ExplorOcean also have a Touch Tank filled with the slimy, the bumpy, and the slippery! There are two interactive touch tanks, home to over 25 cold water invertebrates including bat stars and hermit crabs! Are you game to touch them!?

I enjoyed my day here going on a boat excursion to observe sea lions relaxing on a bowie. On that ride I wanted to do the activities I had seen others doing, like people para-sailing, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, enjoying the ocean view on a boat ride for whale watching, enjoying the beach, and scuba diving. They had lessons, activities, displays, and a raffle. Walking to the pier and Balboa beach was a treat to see and learn about the local crabs. I was excited to see a sea lion swimming next to the pier. The food was excellent as well...Read More

My daughter, Megan, a 6th grader at Newport El, absolutely LOVED ExplorOcean! She enjoyed her time there and learned so much more about her invention. They were VERY helpful. :))

Extremely disappointed in how they handled a class that my kids attended. Staff was rude and extremely unhelpful. Follow up email from the staff was disappointing as well. Parents avoid.

This would be more enjoyable by elementary students gathering from the looks and vibe I received from my teen-aged son.
