I went in June 2014 and it was awesome! All the exhibits were great and the museum looked high-tech. The museum had a flight simulator (which was great, because I love aviation). The exhibits were interactive and everything was great. There is no way you can miss visiting Discovery World!

"...Worst of all, the museum contracted with a pest control agency to have the building sprayed regularly...to kill spiders that lived on the outside of the building. Not ants or roaches or any other pest that is actually problematic, but spiders, predators that naturally control the pest population. The extermination was ordered regularly solely for aesthetics, and the pesticides were not "green." The worst part about this? Worst museum I have been to. It is an embarrassment. Exhibits are poorly marked--what the heck are we looking at? About half of the interactive exhibits were broken. One mock piano, had about 3 keys left on it. And in other displays, there was precious little information about them--ok, so we can lie on a bed of nails, but how can this happen??

    Third rate museum.

A nice little science museum. Close to a number of parks.

Just a couple examples of the ridiculous hypocrisy at work at the institution, and one reason I quit that job.
TL;DR: A science museum I used to work for does not practice what it preaches regarding conservation & preservation." - Quoted from an ex-employee on reddit.
