Feel like having a camping experience right on the Illinois River? Then you might have to check out Diamondhead Resort! 

This family friendly Oklahoma campground is right on the Illinois River, and offers a range of RV and tent camping spots for your family's time away together!

Diamondhead Resort have 30 amp sites for those wanting your full hook ups for your RV. They also have picturesque tent spots for those families who want that classic camping experience.

You also get all the amenities you would want from a comfortable campground. They have super clean bathrooms, and picnic tables for you to enjoy your family meals on.

Kids - these are the amenities that YOU will love! How about trying disc golf? Haven't tried it before? Well, the 9-hole course at the resort will seem like a great place to try!

For those active kids they also have 2 lighted sand volleyball courts, as well as a basketball court so you can shoot some hoops. Nothing but net!

Spend the afternoon enjoying the horseshoe pit, or check out the fun internet jukebox!

And then of course there is the river itself. You can't have a river campground without splashing around in the safe swimming areas near the gravel bar. You can also enjoy rafts or canoes on the river. What a way to spend the day!

Directions

When coming from South of Tahlequah:
When you use 62 and 82 to get here you'll be coming into Tahlequah on the south side from Muskogee or Keys. You will need to turn right at the first stop light past the Wal-Mart entrance. Go to the fourth stop light and turn right onto Downing Street (this is also Highway 62 and 51). You will go through one stop light then turn left onto Highway 10 right before the Illinois River bridge. You will go about 5 miles on Highway 10 then you will see the Illinois River Store on your left and Diamondhead Resort on the right.

When coming from East of Tahlequah:
When you use Highway 51 or 62 coming from Westville or Stilwell you will pass Speedy's Service Stop and go over the Illinois River bridge. Once you go over the bridge you will take a right and go about 5 miles. You will see the Illinois River Store on the left and Diamondhead Resort on the right.

When coming from West of Tahlequah:
When you use Highway 51 coming from Wagoner you will take a left onto the Hwy 51 Spur at the stoplight. Stay on the Hwy 51 Spur until you come to Highway 82. Take a left on Highway 82 and you will go about 1.5 miles and make a right at Steely Hollow Road. When you get to the end of Steely Hollow Road make a left and Diamondhead Resort will be on your right side.

When coming from North of Tahlequah:
When you use Highway 82 coming from Highway 412 (Cherokee Turnpike), you will turn left at Steely Hollow Road. Go to the end of Steely Hollow Road and make a left. Diamondhead Resort will be on your right.

If you use Highway 10 coming from the Kansas, OK, area, you will go about 20 minutes South of the Illinois River Ranch. We are located 7 miles South of Peavine Public Access on the left side of the highway.

They aren't just camping! They have motels, cabins and bunkhouses too

You can also float the Illinois River in a 4-man, 6-man or 9-man raft. Most floaters prefer the 6 mile trip but for those who want to make sure they are out all day you can tackle the 12 mile trip.

The Gravel Bar is the only full service bar on the Illinois River. It is open Friday and Saturday night with breakfast served on Saturday and Sunday mornings. On Friday nights you can also catch some great live music

Check the float safety list before you get out on the water. It lists who is safe to float on what depending on the water level

They have tent camping, RV with electric only and full hook up RV spots. They also have lovely clean bathrooms

They have picnic tables for you to enjoy your food - come stocked up!
