Where are we going today?

It's always SO much fun to play, isn't it? So what if we told you there was a place that is dedicated to kids having just that - FUN!

The Children's Museum of Richmond was created to provide kids and their families a place where they could play together, every day! It also just so happens that this museum is also dedicated to kids learning too! It can't get much better than that!

The Children's Museum of Richmond is filled with exhibits that each teach kids something new and different. They encourage natural and spontaneous play, where they can learn all about the world around them.

The exhibits build on what is familiar, and then allow kids to make new connections. Kids can discover, problem solve, be creative, and use their imagination!

Kids can spend the day exploring the Children's Garden, or playing in the super fun Playhouse. They can visit the Town Square, or play in the Dairy Barn. There is SO much to do!

Ever seen a museum with a carousel in it? You have now! They can get their fingers messy in the Art Studio, or enjoy "dinner" in their very own Silver Diner.

If you have little ones under 3, the Little Farm is perfect for them, as there is a space for free body movements, as well as a host of sensory activities.

Kids can pretend to be teachers, or doctors, or even work in a garage.

Those up to 8 years too will get a host of fun playing outside in the Backyard Exhibit, with sand, water and even musical instruments.

Museums have never been so fun! So grab those active minds and bodies, and head to the Children's Museum of Richmond!

Facts: I don't like crowds, I have little patience for poorly disciplined children, chaos makes me crazy, and I can't stand the city. That being said, CMOR-Central is awesome. I have taken my children there to two birthday parties in the last few months. It's completely chaotic but in a children-at-play type of way, making it completely acceptable and enjoyable. The children have a blast. The staff is nice and helpful. It's not intended to be babysitting and children should not be dropped off or left unsupervised in any capacity (c'mon people)....Read More

A wonderful place to take the kids. I suggest it's for children 2-8 years old. There is so many things to keep their imaginations going. I have also volunteered here it was so fun!!

We visited the short pump location. If you go expecting a museum as I was you will be disappointed. It's a glorified indoor playground with poorly trained staff. 9 dollars a person so for a family of three 27 dollars!? Maybe call it children's playground of Richmond and only pay for your child MAYBE but this is not worth your money or time.

I plan to take my children back again (meaning I'll be paying, which also says a lot). Pay attention to peak times of attendance if you're anti-social like me.
