Where are we going today?

The park covers over 6,400 acres of rolling hills and water in South Central Louisiana. The cool, clear waters of Lake Chicot have yielded record freshwater catches of largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and red-ear sunfish. Fishermen will enjoy the convenient boathouse, three boat launches and boat rental facilities.

Park staff was friendly when we called.

But the park design Is pretty dated. Power is located in the wrong place in many campsites on the south side. Bathrooms were clean, but equipment was very worn and set up for zero privacy. One camping loop had a bridge with a 5-ton limit and no warning until I was part way down the loop - really? Approach angles are fine for cars, but would be really tough for big trailers or larger motor homes. We had some trouble in our 1-ton long wheelbase truck. This place is definitely not big-rig friendly

Excellent trails (bring a map or gps) and camping areas. Good nature experience. Bathrooms do need updating but the only negative I can remember.

Adequate RV site at nice price. Quiet park. Nice lake. Open wireless in the park. No sewer or cable at site, but we picked up 5 or 6 local broadcast stations. Central dump station.

And to top it off, they have a net nanny on their wifi. They block gun websites... In Louisiana? Really? Un-freaking-believable.

Probably wont visit again.
