Unrecoverably lost about $400 here instead of enjoying this place:1) I bought a groupon for Cape Codder about 2 weeks ago2) Five days before our stay my very close relative passed away 3) I tried to cancel the Groupon and it appeared that I missed the 5-day “easy cancellation” window by two hours. Groupon advised to, citing “At this point, you must contact the merchant, who will handle cancellations on a case-by-case basis.”4) I called Cape Codder (merchant), explained them circumstances, they said they’d love to help but Groupon didn’t explain them how to process such cancellations.5) I contacted Groupon again, by phone, explaining 1-2-3-4 above and asking to explain to hotel staff how to process my cancellation. 6) Groupon got back to me by e-mail, citing “… We understand it can be difficult to plan around unexpected circumstances. The cancellation deadline has already passed, but given the confusion in this case we have reached out to the hotel to see if anything can be done.Unfortunately, because we are past the cancellation deadline outlined in this deal’s Fine Print, their management have confirmed for us that your reservation cannot be canceled. …”7) Well done, folks! If a relative just passed away is not enough for case-by-case, then what is??#groupon

This resort has something for everyone: phenomenal activities for children (everything from magic shows, face painting and wildlife presentations, and of course the huge wave pool and slide), a great on-site restaurant featuring comfort foods and an approachable wine bar, and plenty of great shopping and sight seeing a short drive away. The resort is large and sprawling, but truly a fun family destination.

Best place ever! The first time my family went we all had a great time. The wave pool was the best. My kids were so happy to be at this wonderful placed. The Hearth and Kettle serves great coffee. The outdoor pool is awesome. The rooms are big for our 4 family members.

Without a doubt, the worst weekend stay of our life!! We went here for our anniversary. Nothing was as promised by the reservationist. There was no champagne in our room upon arrival. I had to ask for it, and it didn’t get there for another four hours. We were given a room right next to the children’s playground, which meant screaming and yelling for most of our stay. Not what I wanted for an anniversary weekend. You would think the reservationist would have put us somewhere, anywhere else than where he did put us. Labor day weekend – no other rooms available. The tub had upwards of eight inches of scummy water after taking a shower, and it took all of 25 minutes to drain out. Sheets kept falling off the bed. Very uncomfortable. The room itself had an odor of mold or mildew, or both. Coffee pot was crap. It is supposed to take round packets of coffee, and staff supplied square ones, that even after running them through twice, the coffee was one step below dishwater. The Hearth and Kettle restaurant was terrible in ambience and staffing levels. Very loud people and management did nothing to try to quiet them down. When the bill arrived, it was not the same rates as were quoted, and management would not alter the bill, even though I showed them proof that the price was different. They did offer to take it off my bill the next time I stay there. There is a better chance of snow on the fourth of July than there is of us ever staying there again. All in all, totally not worth the money. Staff was apologetic about all the problems, but never offered to try to fix any of them . When the credit card bill arrives, I will be disputing the charges and explaining why.

If you’re not staying at this resort there is a fee to use their facilities. $20.00 on weekdays $25.00 on weekends. There are two slides and the pool has decent waves. It ain’t the beach, but on a rainy day with kids, it’s the next best thing. There is a 20 person hot tub (it’s not really that hot – I like hotter) and two saunas one is hot they other is barely warm, This hotel itself is really wonderful and full of kids who loved playing with my 2 year 10 month old. Beautiful lobby – nice hallways. Gorgeous tapestries hanging in the halls. The place seems very very clean. The front desk staff were helpful and gave me band-aids for my blistered feet. There is a cool game room and they show movies at night for the kids.Great family fun hotel. I can’t speak to the rooms as they were sold out for the weekend so we didn’t stay here, but from passing some open doors while walking through the halls, I would say clean nice roomy at a glance.
