After an extremely long 2 days on the river...Highway 60 in Bartow, FL to the Can'tDo Outpost...we pulled into the Outpost to stretch and get a coke from their machine. The time was 4:10pm on a Tuesday when we arrived. I figured they would welcome us with open arms, but I was wrong. They wouldn't let us onto their dock to stretch or buy a drink and they pointed us to a boat ramp just down the river. To me that's the sign of a dying business.

We go fossil hunting every year, and every time we have an amazing time. The people are great, and they are very helpful. I'm laughing at the person who complained about the water being dark (it was probably deep, duh) and there being alligators (you're in Florida, Einstein).

Peace River suits it's name. My sister and I go a few times a year. We enjoy the cool refreshing water and hunting for fossils/sharks teeth. We have never (yet) seen an alligator there, but of course it being fresh water, we are sure they are around but still feel safe in the water. We have been there when the water level was high and it can get a bit rough, but mostly it's a calm and peaceful place to spend the day. I have also taken my kids there and never experienced anything but good clean family fun.

(To the below review) Welcome to Mother Nature!! What do you expect in Florida? It is a brackish river so obviously you aren't going to see the bottom in some areas. If you want to see the bottom... My experience on the Peace River has been nothing but enjoyable. The crew out there is courteous, and they are hard workers. Especially at the end of our trip, We don't have to clean up.. Cant ask for a better day. Well worth the $$!! We go at least 3 times a year and plan on keeping it that way! I recommend this outpost to any outdoors man/woman!
