If you are looking to extend your family day out in the Mission Bay area, then Campland might just be for you!

Campland is located right on the shores of Mission Bay, and they are right near some of the area's most popular attractions such as San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and Seaworld (You can even watch the fireworks at night from the campground)

As a campground, they have everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. From bathrooms and showers, laundry facilities, wifi and restaurant, they really are a family friendly campground.

Then of course, there are the activities! There are a host of things to do with the family during your stay. Those active kids will love the sports like volleyball and basketball - there is even a skatepark! Then there are those other fun activities like scavenger hunts, sand castle building contests, campfire sing-a-longs, arts and crafts, ping pong....parents you will wonder where the kids have been for so long when they disappear into the sea of fun!

Being so close to the bay, that also means a host of water sports, including sailing, jet skiing, aqua-cycles, peddle boats and water skiing!

Just came back today. My family has been going there every summer the past 21 years. We have many great memories.

Pros - Camp ground is full of families. I yet to meet a rude person who camped here yet. With the pools, parks, bay, basketball court, skate park and the activities schedule there is plenty to do. The past couple of years the quality of bands they have bought in have been good as well.

Cons - There is constant traffic. You need to keep an eye on your kids and pay attention. The 11:00pm quiet time curfew is something we have found the...Read More

We have been going to Campland for the past 15+ years and every year is just a blast. Loved the Beatles Tribute Band this year. Always clean and well maintained. We are now on a third generation enjoying your campground, thanks for a great time!

This park hates dogs. Do not try to take your dog. We have an obedience trained boxer mutt. We were denied entry even though we have a dog license stating her breed and a vet verification she is not on the list of their dangerous dogs. The man at the gate flatly refused to look at the paperwork. He said he didn't need to see any dog breed paperwork. He was rude -- so outrageously rude I give this place negative stars. I was not allowed to speak to a manager and the park refuses to refund our money. They robbed us of $86.00.

I don't understand how there can be any negative reviews. People will just complain about anything and everything, must be a miserable way to live. Seriously why do you camp if you hate people, bikes, kids and dirt???? My husband and I went with our 2 little ones (7 months and 2 yrs) and camped with a group. The vibe of this place is different than most campgrounds. Its more of a summer vacation feel. There is so much to do! There is always something going on. Great place for kids. Lots of music and laughter and people and fun. Everyone was friendly...Read More

I just booked our reservations for July, as we are really looking forward to going again. Last Summer was our 1st trip to Campland and both my teen kids loved it. There are plenty activities for everyone and the family atmosphere is great. I would recommend this for anyone interested in getting away, enjoying the beach and the surrounding areas.

The fact you have to be back at your own camp ground by then means you can't have a group campfire with anyone who is not on your spot. We go with our cousins, aunts and uncles and most times are spread though out the park. Kind of a bummer when this is the only time of year we see a lot of them.

Lots of music and laughter and people and fun. Everyone was friendly and in a vacation/loving life mood! Night time was quiet and never had a problem sleeping! Even with a baby! We did have one incident with the "authority" there when they took our golf cart because our little 13 yr old brother was driving it. We had to go back and retrieve it and pay the golf cart fee (every place charges a fee for everything so it was no big deal) supposedly the ranger who took it was rude, but I'm the kind of person who doesn't let one rude person get my panties in a bunch about the whole experience. Everyone else I came across was super nice. And in their defense, we knew the rules and we broke it by letting a 13 yr old use our golf cart. I loved that they were relaxed about alcohol. I enjoyed many beers laying on the beach :-) I also loved that there was a guitarist/singer at the restaurant in there on Sat night. My 2 year old danced the night away. All in all, it was a blast and we will be making this a yearly family vacation. We have the supersite booked in September, i'm sure I will fall in love with this place all over again then.
