Where are we going today?
Are you excited to discover the underwater world of Southern California, kids? No, you don't have to even get wet, because it's all there to be discovered at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium!
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is just steps from Cabrillo Beach, and is the perfect place for kids to learn about not only marine life, but conservation too.
The exhibits within the aquarium having been showcasing the rich and diverse sea life since 1935 - that's a lot of families who have had a great day out at the aquarium! There are interactive displays, as well as museum collections that are just waiting to be explored.
In the Susanne Lawrenz-Miller Exhibit Hall, kids can explore the Rocky Shores, the Open Ocean Ecosystems, as well as the Sand and Mud. There are even live exhibits which are perfect to learn about the animals and the plants that life in all of these environments.
The Open Ocean exhibit will really make kids realize how VAST the ocean really is! From the delicate jellyfish to the huge whales and sharks, including the second largest species of shark in the world, the lives of these species are all examined in special exhibits, including skeletons and whale sounds!
If you want to explore an actual working laboratory, the Aquatic Nursey is where YOU can have access to scientific research, and kids can see scientists discovering everything from growing, to caring for young animals.
It's where kids can understand the concept of conservation, and see how important these species are to the circle of life and the environment.

They love having groups, but you need to have a reservation. Why not take the students along for a great day out of learning and the ocean!.

Make sure you take the kids to the touch tank, which is a great hands on experience!.
Can I get one of those?
The Gift Shop is a treasure trove of gifts and souvenirs, as well as toys, shirts and books! All of the proceeds go towards the programs at the squariums.
Parking is $1 per hour, with a $9 maximum..

I've always enjoyed this place since I was a kid. Lots of jelly fish and other marine life. Although the beach is not what it was 25 years ago, my kids still enjoyed it. Donation is suggested but not required. Plenty of parking.

Great place. Lots of marine life to see. Worth the trip!! Huge star fish, lobsters and jelly fish! Touch tank outside sure not to miss. Will be back soon. They operate on a donation basis. Call to find out! Parking is $1/hr.
