Marvel at the grand American Bison, or watch in awe as you see a big grizzly bear walk in front of you. Kids can experience the beautiful animals of the Himalayas and Asia, or watch the playful creatures of Madagascar.

Jungleworld gives a wonderful and fascinating insight into those animals that all the jungle home, and  of course - there are those creatures of the waters like the sea lions!

Kids - do you want to get REALLY up close to some of the sweet animals - maybe even pet them! The Children's Zoo is the perfect place to grab some grain and feed the sweet domestic animals by hand. Have you ever fed an alpaca or a goat? Now is your chance!

Ahhh, the Bronx Zoo. One of the greatest attractions in NYC. As a girl raised in the Bronx, we took numerous school trips to the Bronx zoo. I was always mezmorized by all the animals and the cool treats. My favorite part was riding the camels and the reptile exhibit.

Now that I've grown up, I appreciate the other parts of the zoo, but prefer to stay off the camels. I like to come here on Wednesdays, because it's free! It's a great place to learn and enjoy a the day!

I just hateeeeeee when I have to give bad reviews, or give a negative comment, so I often call them "my complaints". My major complaint, is with these elephant rides. Its time for this location to let these poor animals rest. Just the image of their exhausted corporal gestures, make me sick. The Bronx Zoo houses amazing habitats and attractive exhibits such as the Baboon Reserve, Birds of Prey and the Butterfly Garden. Some special attractions include, The Wild Asia Monorail, the Congo Gorilla Forest and the Dinosaur Safari. One particular exhibit...Read More

The Bronx Zoo is a gigantic space with various animals like giraffes, black swans, and frogs the size of your thumb. Peacocks roam the walking paths and share the space freely with visitors. Go early, you can spend the entire day walking around the zoo. Bring comfortable shoes, warm layers, and snacks in the winter.

I visited the zoo on a Thursday having missed place my membership card. Customer service representative was extremely polite and helpful, emailing me a temporary pass immediately. I rarely visit the zoo and or the five parks that I'm allowed to visit with my membership. But I don't mind, for it allows me to support their wonderful work. I'm from a very small island in the Caribbean and our zoo leaves a lot to be desired. Since the zoo is so large we plan to visit again to see the other parts.

As much as i hate, and as much as it is difficult for me to see wild animals in captivity, i must say that the Bronx Zoo is a great place to visit to see the wild animals from close. and as bad as it may sound, they make you feel like they give the animals the best home they can get which is not the wild.
The place is very clean, the staff are very friendly, and they have a crazy diversity of animals there.
I took my young nephew there, and i could tell that from that day, i am he's favorite uncle ;)

One particular exhibit that I really enjoyed was the World of Reptiles; here you'll find snakes, poison dart frogs, turtles and many more. Overall the zoo has plenty of beautiful areas to rest, eat and enjoy a day out. Adequate restroom facilities. All buildings are wheelchair accessible. Do keep in mind that this zoo is 265 acres of grounds. Wearing comfy shoes and the proper clothing will be the best option; remember that the distance between attractions may be quite far. You may want to find out about their attraction availability because it may be subject to changes due to weather or other issues. The Bronx Zoo is close to transportation and an all day parking is available for $15.00 for cars and for buses is $18.00. On Wednesdays admission is by "pay-what-you-wish donation". I would recommend.

The zoo was very clean, the staff very helpful and friendly escorting us to areas for additional help. I also felt safe with the NYPD presence. My grandson wanted to take a picture of the cops, and the cop offered my grandson to take the picture with them. With membership which I would highly recommend I didn't have to pay for the items I heard other visitors complained about, in addition it's a big tax deduction. A resounding heartfelt applause to CEOs, Directors, Managers and Staff - job well done!!!
