Love this little lake. Bring your camper and open the door on the water. The developed sites are not close to the water but as i said you can park right down on the water in the undeveloped area. Showers are clean and never busy. I bought a pack of lures from the bait shop before you enter the park on the left and by the end of the day i had a 34 inch Tiger Muskie in my hands. Gets a little packed on holiday weekends but what lake doesn’t. Again this is a little lake and doesn’t have alot of space but is still an awesome lake i have been 4 times in the last year and never had a bad time.

No water at camp sites; Bath Houses locked from 9:pm – 7:am; cows roam freely through the campground leaving their droppings everywhere, and predatory wildlife rampant. CAUTION: if you have pets keep them inside at night. We lost one of ours and found his remains near the dump station. :'(

It was ominous pulling off the freeway onto the mountain road towards the state park. The first sight is a run down city adorned with curse word laden graffiti on abandoned concrete buildings. It was horror movie material to come to another run down town at the state park’s gate, complete with packs of wild dogs, roaming horses, and rusting out trailers. There was no one behind us on the road coming in, but as soon as we pulled into the park gate, a truck completely full of tattooed men drinking Budweiser came pulling in and stopped behind us, blocking us in.After a minute they backed up and pulled in beside us. We sat in our van deciding where to go since we weren’t about to stay there. Meanwhile they walked around the camping instruction sign and deposit box. When my wife maneuvered the van to leave, they all got back into their truck and continued into the park without paying.Needless to say, I would recommend avoiding.

The amenities were excellent. Most campsites were exposed and without privacy but there were also sections of nice wooded sites. Warm showers and an on-site store made Bluewater a excellent camping experience.
