Where are we going today?

Whether you're new to a city, or a long time resident, why not get out and see it from a different angle! Bike and Roll is a fun way for the whole family to not only spend the day together, get some active outdoor fun into your day, but also see San Francisco and all it's hidden secrets!

Bike and Roll offer guided and self-guided bike tours through San Francisco - and there's certainly enough to choose from to allow you to find something that's perfect for the whole family!

There are easy level tours like the Golden Gate bridge experience, which is 60 minutes riding time in a 2 to 4 hour round trip. Perhaps you want to Bike San Francisco Bay instead?

For a little bit more of a challenge, you can head on up to Golden Gate Park and Haight Ashbury, where you can enjoy 2 whole hours of riding in a half day tour. Even Muir Woods is an option!

Don't forget about those challenging rides, where Mount Tamaplais and the Marin Headlands are waiting to be explored!

If you want a guide, you can jump on the Bike the Golden Gate tour so you can hear all about the history and fun facts as you ride.

The Bike and Roll tours will take you all over the city! From Aquatic Park, to Fisherman's Wharf and Fort Mason - maybe even some places you didn't know the city had!

Get out into the beautiful San Francisco nature, breath in that San Francisco air, and enjoy a day of active fun with the family - and maybe you'll be surprised just that little bit more!

I'm Hungry!

You're in San Francisco, there are SO many places to eat! The Bay trail passes through the Marina district complete with Chestnut Street and any number of fine fun food places! If you bike to Sausalito, the village has so many neat snack spots; our personal favorite is Venice Gourmet Deli on Bridgeway Street. Yum-yum!!.

You will pass supermarkets so why not stock up on bottled water and healthy snacks to keep that energy up! .

Any Top Tips?

Slather on the sunblock. Wear sun glasses. Always cycle wearing a helmet (included no charge). San Francisco can be very cool in the summer, so dress in layers. .

Horrible experience!! Was charged an extra hour because they never explained to us that the clock time for the rental starts when he shows the map. Explained to me when I returned and was upset about the extra hour that him showing me the map is offering me a service. REALLY!!! Do not rent from these guys.

I've rented bikes here twice now when different visitors have come to town. They recommended the route from the Embarcadero along the Bay, over the bridge, and into Sausalito. We stopped there for some lunch and then took the ferry back. It was a great trip. The first time I rented from here, my friend's bike got a flat. Bike & Roll drove all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge with another bike to save the day.

This is a rating for the Bike and Roll shop on market Street (5 Embarcadero Ctr)

They have tried to rip us off by enforcing additional charges first by misinformation about the ferry times (we came back by cab) . When we made it just in time they have tried to do this anyway by closing the shop in our face, while a minute earlier I was talking to them that we are coming and just went few meters back to help my friends. We arrived 2 minutes before the closure anyway so they were not doing us any favours...

The worst of that we were so badly treated...Read More

Had an experience VERY similar to Jan.
Couldn't take the ferry back because it was full, so took a cab instead, which cost $60 with a couple bikes. (Cabs with bike racks were lined up for people in this situation.)

Tried to return bikes at Fisherman's Wharf but was told I had to go to either the Beach street location or the Columbus location where I got the bikes.

Went to Beach street and was told that I could not return the bike there until 6pm for "late drop", so I could either stand there with the bikes for 30 minutes until 6 or go to Columbus...Read More

The worst of that we were so badly treated by the manager! At the end when we have mentioned police and that we won't pay at all he agreed to charge us regular price and accept bikes. Otherwise we would have to go to some other collection point and pay extra 10 dollars each. At the end of the conversation he said that there are always problems with you Europeans - what a "hospitality" - not mentioning that one of us was American.

This was a terrible experience right after a lovely trip on quite OK bikes over the Golden Bridge.
If you are planning a bike trip in San Francisco I strongly recommend to use some other service than Bike and Roll.

Went to Columbus st and they finally took the bikes (and were completely indifferent to my troubles), but told me I owed them for the insurance, even though I had given them my credit card for the insurance ahead of time...

Biking over the Golden Gate Bridge is awesome, but don't use Bike & Roll.
