Where are we going today?

Fancy going swimming all your families having an adventure in Minnesota? What, too cold in winter? Not if you have an INDOOR water park!

Big Splash Minnesota Indoor Waterpark is so much fun, you can visit it ALL YEAR ROUND! That's right - even if there is snow falling down all around you, get those swimmers ON!

With 38,000 square feet of water fun, with a host of activities and attractions, that will keep the family making a SPLASH for hours!

If you want to head straight for where the action is, then you might want to check out their 4 story water slides - THREE of them in fact! These will take you on a twisting and turning journey both inside, and OUTSIDE the park!

Pretty cool!

If you want to take it easy, the Lazy River is always fun, where you can enjoy your floating inner tube, or you can pretend like you're in the tropics in the tropical whirlpool spa. Those little ones love the lily pad water walk, and there's also a fun children's play fort complete with geysers, water blasters and a 500 gallon splash bucket - mind your head when you're in that area!

Big Splash Minnesota Indoor Waterpark is part of the Arrowwood Resort, so if you are looking for that mini family getaway, why not stay close by so you can have a weekend - or even a week - of warm, water fun!

    Arrowwod Resort in Alexandria MN,
This is the third time we have been there as a family, I enjoy the Family Activities they offer and that is why we go, It is close to us because we live in Fergus Falls,
Now for the reason why I gave the resort a 3 star review
Access is a Huge problem at least by my standards they have two elevators and lots of stairs for a place that holds around 200 rooms, I have Fibro and its really hard to walk up and down stairs, The elevators are there but are mainly in the center area near the front desk, We...Read More

Small non hdtv, channels w/o programming are on the list and not removed. No bath fan. Lights that have 3 brightness settings have the wrong light bulbs in them. The door to the patio was jammed shut, the door wouldnt open.

Travel-wise, Arrowwood Resort was a great option for us especially in the winter. It's not a Wisconsin Dells type of hotel (like the Kalahari or Wolf Lodge), but it was fun nonetheless for a week-end. The rooms are spacious (standard and suite) and we found the hotel to be quiet for sleeping. We enjoyed the activity center for a break from the pool--a great addition to the waterpark. The pizza poolside was surprisingly very good! Our only complaints would be that the water temperature is a bit chilly--a warmer pool (especially the "younger" pool...Read More

This was our first time at Arrowhead Resort. I thought overall the resort was great. But the general upkeep and minor daily cleaning was lacking a bit. Rust stains in a waterpark I think are unacceptable. Especially for the price a family has to pay to staythere. Also there were broken hoses that could have been fixed easily, and some of the other water spraying features didnt work around the floating river. More garbages should be placed around the waterpark as well. One thing I did notice is the lack of cameras in the stairways going between...Read More

We are a family of four, stayed at the resort for couple days in April. First of all the room was very spacious and beds were comfortable and thats very important for me to have a good vacation. My 6 year old daughter had lot of fun in the waterpark and my 1 year old too had some real fun. The water was little chill, thats the only complaint. The kids camp arrowwood had some activities like coloring contest and cookie decoration which was fun. Overall it was good. I would recommend to anyone.

My review
Arrowwod Resort in Alexandria MN,
This is the third time we have been there as a family, I enjoy the Family Activities they offer and that is why we go, It is close to us because we live in Fergus Falls,
Now for the reason why I gave the resort a 3 star review
Access is a Huge problem at least by my standards they have two elevators and lots of stairs for a place that holds around 200 rooms, I have Fibro and its really hard to walk up and down stairs, The elevators are there but are mainly in the center area near the front desk, We had to walk aways to get to the Big Splash, and it was on the other end of the building and away from the elevators So lots of confusing stair cases to climb up and down to get there.
I myself was packing up the room and sent my husband and kids to the cabins that my other family rented for the weekend and found out that there is only aprox 10 loading carts for all of the aprox 200 rooms that they have, When I asked the front desk to help they said they would let me know when a cart was not in use,I asked them well can you please check the building for stay carts? Or if you have one in storage some where? I had a lot of items and I would have to make several trips and I had Fibro and my muscles would not be able to let me do it with out a cart!!! They were on the phone and I thought they were checking and so I waited and waited I waited for a half an hour!! and then went to my room Discouraged, The ladies behind the counter would not be able to see if a cart was empty because they would not be able to see where the empty carts were located it was a very empty unreasonable offer, I went back up stairs grabed a couple items and went back to the lobby were at that moment I seen a man with a empty cart, The front desk was busy and yes missed out on a cart for me!! I told them that i was going to park in the loading area because my car was far away they said ok so I contiued loading my families items we had 4 kids and a baby and my husbands and myselfs items at the third trip and two empty carts I saw later get missed!!! I told the ladies at the front desk that I was going to write a bad review, If I didnt get a cart, my arms hurt and my body was sore and I could bairly hang on to anything, I felt very upset that they were continuing missing empty carts. My husband finally comes back from the cabins with the children and I was halfway done and we were 10 min away from check out, When I get a knock at the door, Because I told them I was going to write a bad review they sent me a house cleaner!! Who God bless her sweet soul was older than me and was not dressed to help me move stuff outside, That I felt was worst thing they could have done to me and The Fact that my husband was there I had no use for the Help!! they finally decided to give me.
I feel that Arrowwood has a great Idea and has alot to offer but they have a bad business practices and dont use their funds in the right areas
I would for one or course
Get more elevators
Get more Loading carts for the amount of rooms they have
Get more signs so that people know how to get to places in the Hotel
Get better parking structure
I hope my experience helps others, I'm going to be suggesting other options next year for our families yearly outing,
with as much as our family spends combined ( that was a combined two cabins and two suites for two days) we could do much better than Arrowwood and get better service thanks
After I wrote review and left email on there web site the manager did call and make things right , although it does not solve the access problem they did acknowlege my personal issue which I appreciated

The pizza poolside was surprisingly very good! Our only complaints would be that the water temperature is a bit chilly--a warmer pool (especially the "younger" pool area) would be appreciated! The little slide that you would think is for toddlers isn't very useful because most toddlers won't go in it because you get sprayed in the face at the top; I'd recommend turning off the sprayer to the face and just have water going down the slide itself. The bed was comfortable overall, but I found the sheets to need replacing (pilling) and all the pillows on the bed (3 or 4) were very fluffy that I woke with neck cramps because of the elevation--had to use the decorative pillows eventually. I would also recommend adding a line in the bathroom to hang wet towels & suits as you are at a waterpark vs. just throwing it over the shower curtain rod (which you then have to remove to take a shower).
Overall, this was a quick week-end getaway with a very convenient location for my family and I would do it again. Staff was friendly & the Sunday buffet was full of options & was very good.
