Backwoods Adventures offers family adventures canoeing and kayaking on the beautiful North Fork of the Payette River. This stretch of river is legendary for seeing moose, ospreys, great blue herons, golden and bald eagles. It was also the location for the filming of Northwest Passage in the 1950s. We are located 6 miles up the historical Warren Wagon Rd. at the mouth of Big Payette Lake and the Upper North Fork of the Payette River in a non-motorized zone in Ponderosa State Park at the north end, offering you amazing paddling opportunities in serene surrounds.
Try a stand up board! Combining the skills and thrills and paddling and surfing (almost!) it's as easy as you make it on yourself, and something fairly unique for kids who've 'done it all'.
Hwy 55 North through McCall (at Lardo’s) turn right on Warren Wagon Rd. Approximately 8 miles to the NORTH BEACH BOAT RAMP.
