About this activity

Audubon Nature Institute Park is a great way to spend the day with nature, and LOADS of kids fun!

Located in the historic district of New Orleans Audubon Park, this has been a long favorite area for families to come and enjoy a picnic, or some active fun, on a beautiful day! For over a century in fact!

When you head out to the park for the day, make sure you are ready for a day of nature and relaxation - and take full advantage! You will be surrounded by large ancient Oaks as you settle in for that family picnic. If you have some energy in you, head out onto the 1.8 miles of jogging path, or just stroll along with the family.

Kids - if you STILL have energy, then why not spend some time on those fun playgrounds! You can spend the day climbing, playing, swinging, and just using up all of that extra energy!

Fancy playing some actual sport? So much fun for the whole family, why not hit the tennis courts or the soccer fields? Maybe you would rather spend time in the lagoon?

The great thing is that at Audubon Park, you can do whatever you like!

Bird watching your thing?  Make sure you spend some time at Ochsner Island, otherwise known as Bird Island. It's one of the most popular spots for bird watchers. Hundreds of birds can be seen each year with nests (that means little chicks occasionally too!) From Snowy Egrets, Night Herons to Great Egrets, there are a host of fun birds for you to enjoy!

For nature, wildlife, and family fun, Audubon Park in the Audubon Nature Institute does it's best to really offer you a great family time together!
