I've been attending andes since fourth grade and haven't ever been anywhere else so my experience is limited. I've enjoyed many hours spent there but there are definite flaws. From runs being closed daily to crazy food prices. Overall, a good experience

Watch out for deceptive business practices. I had previously purchased several hundred dollars worth of their 'punch' program last season on the condition I would be able to use the remaining this season. I'm not certain if the worker at the window when I purchased did not know what she was doing, but I recently found out from Andes that all of my several hundred dollars worth of unused 'punches' were not good for this season. I must say that I am very surprised to find out almost a year later that I was scammed after trusting them.

If you are literally a first time skier, Andes would be ok. But if you are ready for longer runs or a better terrain park I would recommend Buena Vista Ski Area near Bemidji. It has lots of rails, and a pretty nice 25 foot kicker. They also have longer runs for all ages.

Skiing is not that bad if you're a new skier or with children. However, as Arnold rated below the hills can get old quick more so if you're an experienced or even intermediate skier. The park is likely overpriced if you need to rent. My advice to other skiers is to avoid anything but day only lift tickets unless you're a local looking for a season pass.
