If you're visiting Arlington, or even live in this great city, the Air Force Memorial is worth a visit. It's a great way for kids to learn about history, or expand what they already know about American forces.
The Air Force Memorial stands tall, as it honors the men and women who served, and still serve, in the United States Air Force.
The memorial overlooks the Pentagon, and is near the Arlington Cemetery, so you are surrounded by American history everywhere you look.
You can't miss the Air Force Memorial, because you will see the huge sculpture jutting out from the ground. It's the perfect place for a talking point with kids about events that have happened in American history, and the people that took part in those key events
There are three spires that you will see, and these represent the three core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence. The spires are as tall as 270 feet, so they are pretty impressive!
The Air Force Memorial isn't an attraction that will take up too much out of your day, so it's worth a stop if you are enjoying a history-filled day out in Arlington, and the surrounding area - which of course, includes Washington DC - and you know how much history is there!
So spend a few moments at this great memorial, and let kids honor those who have served.
