Where are we going today?

It is a pillar of imagination. It is a journey through science. It is smart, creative, athletic, musically gifted, and has an enormous heart. And It possibly has the best view in Nashville. It is the Adventure Tower at Adventure Science Center. And it's packed with exciting scientific exploration.

Dirty, dark and loud - nothing like the bright and organized science centers we've visited previously. This place reminded me more of an arcade. They have your standard exhibits, but packed together so tightly that younger children hit sensory overload much too quickly to learn anything. Might as well have gone to the playground and saved the admission.

Seeing it for the first time, it was nice. My younger daughter enjoyed it. My teenager, didn't. The food service area could have been better. The Subway restaurant personal lacked enthusiasm in their jobs, thus it was a boring area. The Sea Monster Exhibit was nice but, the seating could have been better selected by staff as so not for the customer to be uncomfortable. The real negative was the announcer this past Sunday during closing time. The first announcement reminder of the closing time was 4 minutes til, when she said the museum would be...Read More

Visited for nostalgic reasons while I was in town for a rare visit and was surprised that it seemed unchanged since I grew up. Could definitely use an update. The planetarium show "Stars" was neat and kids ages 6-11 will sill enjoy the exhibits, regardless.

Recently went on vacation to Nashville and discovered this place through Google Places. I'd recommend it to anyone, young and old alike. It's laid out very well, and the exhibits are hands-on and very interactive. Made learning a very exciting thing to do. There's a really great exhibit about physical disabilities that literally puts you in the shoes of a paraplegic and gives you a deep respect for the every day difficulty of the condition. Also, wonderful section on space & aviation. If you're a parent, this is a MUST see destination for...Read More

The real negative was the announcer this past Sunday during closing time. The first announcement reminder of the closing time was 4 minutes til, when she said the museum would be closing in 5 minutes. I went to the restroom. My family went downstairs. While I was in the restroom, the announcement arrived that the museum was closed. As I was leaving the rest room and attempting to make my way to the exit, another announcement came..."It is 5:05pm. The Museum is closed and was closed 5 minutes ago." Hearing this statement, trying to get out of the building with the lights slightly dimmed, made it somewhat uncomfortable. The emergency doors were lit, but the main way out from an upper floor were not to easy. I had to ask directions from a maintenance person.
