Yoho National Park is one of 42 national parks in Canada. Yoho represents the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains region, and is also a Cree expression of awe and wonder for this place of rock walls, spectacular waterfalls and soaring peaks. In the shadow of the Great Divide, Yoho holds the secrets of ancient ocean life, the power of ice and water, and unique plant and animal communities that continue to evolve today.
There are vertical rock walls, waterfalls and magnificent peaks to admire, and they attract visitors from all around the world! There are lots of activities to do for the whole family and the children are able to download a special booklet for them to explore learn and have fun.
Enjoy a guided conservation hike and learn more from the experts about how to protect species and risk and to restore balance in critical habitats in the mountain. You can also experience holding a 505 million year old fossil in your hand, explore the remains of an acientie sea in the sky with hands-on activities and storytelling.
With Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada Highway) running through the centre of Yoho, most people visit the park by car or RV.
