Great facility. It's nice to see all the positive changes over the last few years. Can't wait to see what else is in store.

The forward moving progress that MacDonald Island has made is amazing. I have been here 6 years now and I am pleased with how far the facility has come. Of course there may be a few annoyances but really there is that much to do I would hardly notice the small things that may have bothered me. If I have presented a problem to the staff and showed respect while doing so they have always been more than friendly and helpful. If you have a problem with not enough room for badminton or swimming lane clutter or overly crowed climbing facilities then...Read More

MacDonald Island park's uses span over a multitude of genres. The building has a pool, curling rink, hockey/skating rink, a presentation room (typically used for concerts, though one can tell that the room wasn't made for concerts. Honestly, I'm surprised Fort McMurray doesn't have better concert facilities), and several other family-friendly activities. Prices, appeal, and entertainment facilities are all very impressive, however, I have one issue, which are the washroom facilities. However, dirty bathrooms are to be expected in a public area.

If you have a problem with not enough room for badminton or swimming lane clutter or overly crowed climbing facilities then all you need to do is adjust your schedule, because the way I figure it, if someone else is using it, they are probably enjoying it, and isn’t that the whole point of having a world class, community oriented facility like this?

Great place for the family, I'd recommend it if you're visiting Fort McMurray (for whatever obscure reason) or simply haven't checked it out.
