Choo Choo! All aboard - it's time to take a ride on a classic train from the 1920's...the South Simcoe Railway infact! This historic train will take you on an unforgettable journey through the Beeton Creek Valley, over the rails of a branch-line over 100 years old! How incredible is that!
This line once connected Hamilton with Barrie and Collingwood, and now is there to take families just like your through the rolling countryside.
The round trip gives you just under an hour of fun, but it's the perfect amount to give kids those train loving kids a chance to experience a real, vintage locomotive.
Throughout the journey, you will hear the Conductor tell you all about the area, and the history of the very train you are riding!
It's an amazing way to realise how ancestors would have travelled. As you travel, just picture yourself 100 years ago on a locomotive chugging along those very rails. Where you would have been going? Perhaps to search for a new life!
It was railways like these that made Canada what it is today, and it's a great way for kids to learn about history. After all, what better place to learn about something than actually ON it!
South Simcoe Railway not only has the scenic tours that you can enjoy, but then they have seasonal excursions such as the Haunted Halloween Adventure, and of course that Santa Claus Express. Don't forget to be good all year just in case you get to meet Santa!
