So,Plan to go on Labor Day which also happens to be my son's 16th bday. That's the day after tomorrow. I plan to take a beach blanket and walk to the point. Other than that if anyone has any tips or special ideas that would be helpful. Restaurant idea?
I've been before but it's been a while. Always loved it. Little shops are expensive of course but all is well maintained.

We've been coming here every May year since 1984, and our children have been here every year of their lives. A World treasure, and we are very fortunate to have it close by. Take your binoculars, field guides, cameras, and a good pair of shoes, and get here in the middle of May for a memorable experience. Early mornings are best, but any time of the day is good. There are lots of motels in the area, or you can camp at Wheatley Provincial Park, just a short drive east along the lake.

Oh I love Point Pelee. Been there countless times in spring summer fall and winter and its always BEAUTIFUL. In the spring thousands of birds of many varieties hop and sing in the trees. In the summer the lake calmly invites the swimmers. In fall the majestic trees show off their colours and in winter the marsh welcomes skaters....I LOVE it!!! If you come and bring your nature love with you, you won't be disappointed!

Just visited Point Pelee for the Festival of Birds for 2013. Firstly the park itself is absolutely incredible. It is well marked making it easy for visitors to get around and the facilities provided are well maintained. The staff in the park were extremely friendly and welcoming making it feel like a community environment. And we were not disappointed when it came to the variable species of birds that were promised. We will be returning to Point Pelee National Park for years to come and will recommend to many others. Thank you for a great time.
