    The finest restaurant I have ever seen. Even better than Per Se, Jean Georges, Bouley, Daniel.It is absolutely unbelieveable in quality. That new head chef has done some incredible things there.

    There is no need to go over the accolades that The Modern has received over time; three stars from the New York Times, a Michelin star, and several James Beard Awards since its opening in 2006 are enough to define the caliber of this restaurant. Diners should note that there are two separate dining areas in the restaurant, the less-formal Bar Room, which serves dishes a la carte, and the Dining Room, which requires diners to choose either the four-course prix fixe or the tasting menu. Signature items include the “Alsatian Dumplings”, filled with a savory and tender rabbit-truffle filling and the Quail Baked “En Terre Glaise”, a surprisingly intricate dish. The quail breasts are wrapped in grape leaves and baked in clay, a cooking method that’s completely separate from the preparation of the legs, which are carefully seared. The protein is placed a top an assortment of vegetables, including morels and spinach, which have been cooked in a rich wine and cream sauce. If that were already not enough, the plate is finished off with a ring of Macaroni Grantiné, a concoction which Kreuther himself likens to mac and cheese. Regardless, any meal here is sure to be near-flawless, and a dining experience to remember.

    I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be 🙂 Food: Excellent! This is one of the most exceptional prix fixe 4 course meals you’ll have! Each course is masterfully executed and artfully presented. My favorites are the Shrimp 3 ways, the Artichoke soup, and the Chorizo crusted Cod. Desserts: Beignets (a rare treat in NY and the best outside of New Orleans), Chocolate and Hazelnut Dacquoise, & Black Forest cake. Drinks: Excellent wine list! The sommelier will make great recommendations.Space: Upscale dining in a sleek elegant and modern setting, while overlooking the MOMA garden. The main dining area and bar room is modern, sleek, and sexy settings. Both rooms have separate menus and luckily the bar offers a dessert menu! Great place to bring a date, impress your significant other, or celebrate a special occasion. Scene: People watching. Romantic. Upscale. Date night. Service: Excellent! Very courteous, attentive & professional.

    We have eaten both at the bar and at the restaurant; I would have to say I prefer the bar. The restaurant is fine, but the bar is very cool. Great place for drinks and a light snack, or just drinks before going out for dinner.
