If you're visiting Quebec City you owe it to yourself to drive the 20 minutes it takes to get to the Montmorency Falls Park. The thundering sound of the massive volume of the water crashing to ground as the Montmorency River rolls over the cliffs beneath you on the suspension bridge across it is awesome. All year round you can follow a boardwalk from the parking lot at the top of the falls along the cliffs to an observation point beside the falls and then climb some stairs up to the suspension bridge across the falls. Nice place to spend half a day here or more. Has restaurant on top too or take food with you and make a picnic or something, many people do just that.

During the warmer months you can walk down the cliff stairs on the other side of the falls to the parking lot at the bottom of the falls, there's a series of observation points where you can get some great pictures. You can then take the cable-car back up to the top. There's a great restaurant at the top, that's why we do the loop starting at the top. You can of course start from the bottom with the cable car and make your way back down using the cliff stairs - this would be quicker if you're just pulling off the highway into the bottom parking lot. In Winter you may get to see the "Sugar Pile" that grows next to it as the spray freezes and comes to ground in a massive hill of snow. Go, it's great!
