Sept 17th last year we took out 2 week old - ywes 2 week old TT there. Stayed in the lower lots and the campground had 240 volt charge go through the lines. Bad grounds at this campground. 7 other trailers were damaged.

I had almost a grand damaged and others were well over 3,500
I understand that its being redone this summer - but last ear they denied having problems.

If you see them digging up the campsite - keep going unless you have a surge protector to stop the damage to fridge, AC, and power invertor.

We have stayed at Kiwanis on 5 different occations over 6 years. Its is one of the very best locations you can find in this area. The town is also lovely. This site has made our trips to the Maritimes great

DO NOT CAMP AT THIS SITE! VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES!!! 0/5 stars!!

Hello, I would like to address a incident that occurred when I was recently visiting St Andrews. I play music for a living and have performed at the Red Herring Tavern (local pub) 3 times now (this last one being the 3rd). The first 2 times i had an amazing time, great show and very swept of my feet by the beautiful town. The 2nd time visiting I decided to camp at the Kiwanis Oceanfront campground and had a great time (keep reading though). I was performing music from 10pm - 2:30am at...Read More

I was performing music from 10pm - 2:30am at the red herring tavern so when we finally got back to our site we went to sleep right away as we were extremely tired and got up in the morning and had no problems....

This past September I remembered the Kiwanis Oceanfront campground and went to go book a spot before we went to the bar to set up our equipment. I am a normal looking 22 year old guy (no tattoos, piercings etc that would look intimidating) and I walked in and asked to book a campsite. The lady looked at me as if she was sizing me up to see if i was going to cause trouble (there must not be many young people in your town...) so i assured her that i wouldn't be at the site from 9pm-2:30 as i was performing at the red herring and she need not worry about some hooligans yelling around the campfire. As soon as i said that i played music she outright refused to give me a site which baffled me...she then said that they once had musicians who caused a bunch of trouble and she can't give us a site. I'm assuming that there have also probably been trouble making doctors, lawyers, school teachers, construction workers of many different ages that once camped there and had a bit too much to drink and were too loud and I'm sure their occupations are still aloud to camp there... She also looked in my car where my 4 piece band was and said there were "girls" in there as if they would somehow elevate the trouble i was obviously going to cause.....our band has 2 guys and 2 girls....

This was all so ridiculous as I'd stayed there before without any trouble in June!!! with a "girl" no less.

I tried to level-headedly reason with this woman (40-50 years old) but she was very rudely dealing with me and ended our conversation with "fine it's $100 for the night then", sarcastically when a site actually costs $20.....I have never been treated like this in my entire life and was completely outraged and it gave me a whole new perspective on your town.

We ended up camping at the Island view campground with no trouble...playing music for 4 hours wears a person out and they definitely don't want to come back to where they're sleeping and play MORE....

I just couldn't believe the rudeness of this woman who then when one of my band mates went to go reason with her, after i explained what just happened, locked the door to the office. Unbelievable...
Please do not camp here!
