Take a Walk Through the Past in this unique Northwestern Ontario Pioneer Village. Drop in at the General Store and look through the newly arrived catalogues, visit the shops and chat with the residents while they wait for the train. Recall the memories of a one-room school and spend a quiet moment in the church. Pay a visit at the home and you can even help do the laundry.
The Museum contains a wide range of artifacts and photographs relating to the history of our area, including bricks, railroad photographs, household items, military memorabilia, and much more. A gift from Russ' Garage is a huge collection of old cars, race cars, pedal cars, toys, and memorabilia from automobile and sporting events. The Founders Pioneer Village is surrounded by two impressive facilities, where the Carpenter's Shop is set alongside the Schoolhouse. There's also a one-room School and Teacherage, a Pioneer Home, a Blacksmith Shop, the Newsprint Shop, a Cobbler Shop, a Blacksmith Shop, a General Store, and a School and Cobbler Shop. All villages are furnished with the type of items that were present in the early years before 1949. The Duke Hunt Museum is open to visitors and Walking Through History! Gillespie Road, towards the US border, is where you'll find Founders Pioneer Village, which is just a short drive down Highway 61.Turn right on Gillespie Road just before reaching the U.S. border on Highway 61 to reach Founders Pioneer Village.
