Ornate decor which there is nothing wrong with, I usually prefer new and modern but the sevice was great and so was the food. Hotel was very clean and was in a great location which overruled the decor for me. Wife and kids loved it. Lack of free WiFi.

Incomparable setting and great service, rooms are very comfortable. Service was good, and food was very high quality. Helpful staff also. My low rating arises from that fact that fur garments are sold at the hotel, and appalling Canada Goose fur trimmed jackets are worn by staff. In the year 2014 with masses of video evidence existing of the tormented caged lives of animals farmed for their fur, you would think a leading hotel in one of the worlds' premier wildlife settings would keep fur out of its service offering.

Literally, just returned and wanted to ensure I added a quick review. All I can say is WOW!!! some of the best service my wife and I have ever had. At checkin Van immediately mad us feel welcome with a warm smile, great attitude and excellent service. Small talk on our arrival led to my wife and I revealing that it ww were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This one small discussion led to our entire week filled with staff members congratulating us and ensuring we were given some of the more exclusive seating in the hotel restaurants...Read More

So beautiful and pristine. The rooms have good bathrooms that aren't your regular hotel bathrooms. The room we had looked over lake louise and was so beautiful in the morning I could have stayed there for hours. The food was great and the trails around Lake Louise were incredible. The Hotel was almost perfect, except that the wifi didn't work. For a Hotel that expensive, we should have gotten better wifi. Other then that, the Hotel was great! I reccommend this place to everyone!

This one small discussion led to our entire week filled with staff members congratulating us and ensuring we were given some of the more exclusive seating in the hotel restaurants (window seats with a view of the lake). Upon returning from dinner on our first night we were greater with a bottle of champagne waiting for us. Amazing gesture that really speaks about the classiness of the staff and hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the area even if just one night. I would add we were on the shoulder season - the hotel was busy but not as hectic as I assume peak summer days are but my guess is that anytime you visit you will be treated like royalty. Thanks Van and Fairmont team you made our visit truly memorable!!!.
