Where are we going today?
The Dinosaur Capital of the World!
A few hours on good all-weather highways will take you into another world - the world of startling contrasts between the deep past and the exciting present. Rolling fields suddenly give way to steep, dry coulees ridged with the strata of hundreds of years of erosion by time, wind and water. Through it all, the tranquil Red Deer River gently makes its way through parkland and myriad of recreational opportunities.
The Drumheller Valley abounds with a variety of local recreational opportunities for people of all ages. The facilities include the Drumheller Curling rink, outdoor skating rinks, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and 17km of pathways along the Red Deer River for walking, cycling and rollerblading. Golfing, rafting/canoeing, fishing, hiking mountain biking and The Drumheller Aquaplex, which houses an indoor waterslide, steam room, hot tub and weight room facilities.
