The Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site was designated a national historic site because of the role it played in the mass movement of people to the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush. The Chilkoot Trail has been officially designated by Canada and the United States as a component of the Klondike Gold Rush International Historical Park. Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site protects the historic gateway to the Yukon once tread by Tlingit First Nation traders and Klondike gold rush prospectors.
You'll be able to follow the Chilkoot Trail along the centuries old path and hike through narrow valleys and even scale the Chilkoot Pass if you're feeling adventurous!
