Spent about two hours here during a trip to Ottawa. It has a nice collection of historical artifacts, videos, dioramas, and information panels. The main part of the museum is laid out in four different eras (prehistory to colonial times, WW1, WW2, and modern times), and you can start in the era you want or walk through all four of them. The bottom floor has a large collection of vehicles as well, including Canadian and foreign ones. Gift shop is small but reasonably priced.Only negative on my visit were all the shrieking American girls, including the ones who were taking pictures of each other humping a missile.

This museum left me with so many emotions. It was filled with virtual interactions, simulations, images, objects, information, and that which most affected me: sounds. It was an amazing experience and I will surely visit it again!

It truly is amazing. Expected to be done within an hour and ended up being there for close to 4 hours. Really makes you understand what they went through in order for us to have our freedom.

Disappointing. A mish-mash of exhibits and relics. Hardly any educational multi-media up to today’s standards.. Parking rates set up to gouge the visitor. However, nice building, too bad it is so poorly utilized.

Since I am a very enthusiastic military fanatic, I have travelled to many other different historical memorials and exhibitions. I was very surprised at the comprehensive collection here, there was a large variety of arms and armor, from the war of 1812, to the cold war. The architectural genius of the building can be seen inside and out. Therefor, I very well think that this museum should receive five stars.
