After visiting this museum, I am gushing with praise. If you are in the area, this is a must-see! The first nations display is particularly impressive. It is huge. The whole museum is so educational with the many rooms depicting Canadian life from long ago. The whole building is also beautifully designed. Roaming through this huge museum is an excellent way to spend a few hours.

Very enjoyable! lots of interesting exhibitions and descriptions, well laid out, kids section is amazing and very safe for children- I would recommend the IMAX as well if you have time. Several shows are 3D! I ate at the Boreal Bistro with great food, wine and friendly efficient service. Definitely worth a visit.

The special exhibition on Empress of Ireland is fantastic! But I found the exhibits about the First Nations quite disappointing although it was beautifully laid out.. I've seen better exhibitions on aboriginal history. But kids would definitely love the children's museum with the playhouses representing other countries like Japan, Mexico, Indonesia, etc.

We have visited the museum many times and always enjoy the exhibits and the building itself. However, my complaint pertains to the fact that one cannot purchase tickets online, and must either wait on the phone for a long time to buy a ticket (and incur a service fee), or wait for a very long time in an on-site lineup. My toddler-aged daughter and I arrived plenty early in order to purchase tickets for an 11 AM IMAX screening on Sunday and we had to wait in a long lineup for a very long time to buy tickets. Nice museum and good exhibits

They currently have an exhibit about the Empress of Ireland shipwreck. It was a well done exhibit telling a tragic story that most people do not know.

I especially enjoyed the D-Day IMAX movie.

It was particularly frustrating to have to wait with a young and energetic child in tow. If I had been buying tickets for one of the exhibits rather than a movie, I probably would have left. Allowing customers to purchase tickets online would be much more efficient for everyone involved, and more enjoyable/less aggravating for museum/IMAX customers.
