About this activity

The Canadian Clock Museum opened to the public in Deep River, Ontario in late May of 2000 as Canada's only clock museum. This non-profit, private museum operates as a federal corporation dedicated to preserving and promoting the products and history of Canada's many clock manufacturers and sellers from the early 1800s to current times.

A little over 14,000 people have visited our museum since May 2000, and over one hundred thousand people have visited our website. Our one-hour guided tours of our exhibits covering two centuries of Canadian clocks, from the early 1820s to the present time, will entertain and educate you.

We have a range of historical objects, including some extremely old phonographs that function without power. You can listen to century-old Edison cylinder recordings on a 20th-century floor model Victrola. You will be astonished by the terrific sound coming from a 1927 Victrola CREDENZA floor model 78s phonograph, which was sold in Ottawa and cost the same as a Ford automobile at the time.

We have a variety of period artifacts, including a couple of old record players that work without electricity! Hear century-old Edison cylinder records played on a 1920 floor model Victrola CREDENZA. Be in awe of the incredible sound from a 1927 Victor CREDENZA Victrola floor model 78s record player, which was sold in Ottawa and cost the same as a Ford vehicle then.

From the early 1800s to the present time, this exhibit showcases the heritage of Canada's clock manufacturers and sellers. Take a look for yourself.
