Calgary Zoo is Canada's 2nd largest zoo offering over 1000 rare animals and a variety of birds, reptiles and amphibians in natural habitat enclosures.The Prehistoric Park displays 19 life size dinosaurs in habitats representing life 230 million to 64 million years ago. The dinosaurs, plant and rock formations are similar to those found in Alberta during the Mesozoic period.
Calgary Zoo is home to so many animals. Including lions, bears, giraffes, gorillas, hippos, penguins and so much more! Each part of the Zoo is seperated into continents, including Canadian Wilds, Destination Africa, Exploration Asia, Gateway to Asia and of course the Prehistoric park.
They run lots of events all year round including their Zoolights event which presents seven weeks of festive family fun! You'll experience themed areas and activities, a polar wonderland and a multi-sensory experience in the gorilla amphitheatre too! There's a tunnel of light, skating rink and firepits too. Visit it at night as you'll see the twinking lights at every turn and choreographed light displays, for a wonderufl festive treat.

Access to St. George’s Drive is off Memorial Drive, either east or west. Just follow the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo signs all the way to the gate.
