Have you ever heard of Billy Bishop? If you haven't, then you are about to learn about one of Canada's icons! If you have, then did you know that in Ontario, you can visit his childhood home at the Billy Bishop Home and Museum? Pretty amazing!

Billy Bishop grew up in Owen Sound, and dedicated his life to aviation. He fought in WWI AND WW!!, and brought recognition to the Canadian Air Force.

Not only that, he earned a Victoria Cross by displaying exceptional bravery in 1917. Why? Well, you'll have to visit the Billy Bishop Home and Museum to find out!

Now a National Historic Site, this boyhood home of Billy Bishop features permanent collections on his career and life, with a focus on the military accomplishments of not only himself, but other Canadian Aviators.

The artefacts that you can get up close to include photos, medals, uniforms, and models. The exhibits and home will take you back into the late 19th century, as well as the early 2oth century, as you will be surrounded by original Victoria furnishings, antiques, architectures, and even personal possessions of the Bishop family!

A trip to the Billy Bishop Home and Museum isn't just a history lesson, it can transport you back into history, where you can learn all about it first hand!

Some of the exhibits change too, so there is always something exciting to see. Over the festive season too, the house is fully decorated, and always a fun experience for the kids!
